About Ifrituwu
Why make this website?
I want a website just for myself. I believe everyone should have a website for themselves with their own domain instead of using a stupid shitty social media profile on Facebook or LinkedIn. I don’t intend for this to be my portfolio but rather a website where I can use for multiple different things:
- An about me I can direct friends and others to!
- Have links to my socials and content instead of garbage “Linktree”!
- Leave a shitstain on the web to prove I am a fault-riddled and fallible human in the world of The Dead Internet!
- Slowly learn Emacs so I can replaces VSCode
I originally created this website in Angular and I just cannot stand getting it setup and using it again. Angular is alright if you’re making a super dynamic website that need a lot of data being fetched from a resource and need all those NodeJS crap but for a simple website like this?
NO!
This site is made with HUGO, a super-based and the fastest web framework that doesn’t download a million packages and uses markdown! I can also easily work on this website without any problems on a true “free as in freedom” environment because this web framework doesn’t use proprietary blobs unlike NodeJS based ones.
About Me
Hi! I am a software engineer that has moved away at laughing at r/programmerhumor posts and have learnt the dark reality of working in a company that uses C#, .NET, Javascript and Angular in the same software stack where we have to use Visual Studio and VSCode for everything we do. Absolutely disgruntled about this, I of course would love to change that entirely but all I can do is suffer through it. It is why I am learning C, HUGO and Emacs instead. No need for such complex and bloated software if you are just doing simple things like this website.
I am also a linux enthusiast ( I use arch btw ;) ). Been using Arch Linux as my daily driver since Windows decided they want to completely spy on me through CoPilot and want to push AI (Assnine Intelligence) in my face at all times. As an advocate of being able to own the system you very much use from the hardware to the software, you should consider linux if you care about your freedom of privacy and freedom of knowing what your system is doing.
I seriously cannot use Windows for anything else other than what doesn’t work on linux at all (Wireless VR, Music Production etc) so I am dual-booting unfortunately until I get solutions working for that.
Oh did I mention I fucking love Black Metal \m/? I produce industrial black metal and listen to a lot of it. My music library mostly consists of Black Metal and Dissonent Death Metal. No NSBM though that shit is just musically mediocre besides the childish lyrics.
